The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams 1974
The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams is a 1974 independent feature film inspired by a 1972 historical fiction novella written by Charles E. Sellier Jr.. The film's popularity led to an NBC television series of the same name. The title character, played by Dan Haggerty, was loosely based on California mountain man James "Grizzly" Adams (1812-1860), whose real name was John Capen Adams, a one-time Boston shoe and boot maker.

Andrew Samuel "Andy" Griffith (June 1, 1926 July 3, 2012) Dead at the age of 86. A little part of America died today - God Bless Andy Griffith
I had no idea what they were talking about in the movie when I saw it as a child.
I literally watched this show back in the early 80’s. It’s quite a journey to look back to those days of good clean tv shows of the early 70’s. American shows had an impact on my growing up in England as a young immigrant from a toddler age. What surprises me the most was the american shows and programs touched me the most. Different strokes, buck rogers , six million dollar man etc. Use to think and ask my mother about the weeks when six million diidnt show on Uk tv, and she will say your favourite actor has gone a long trip to the country woods to take a break. Use to think when he’ll be back on tv. Well seeing grizzly Adam’s… it explained a lot back then.😂
I had a crush on him from watching this movie , I was 15 . Now I'm 65 still have a crush seeing movie again. His caracther is kind, caring, earthy, giving masculine, survivalist. A real man.
Watching in 2024, 50 years after the first time I’ve seen it at 9 years old. Brings back great memories, even the theme song, which I haven’t heard in ages. ❤
Seslendirmesi turkce olsaydi cocuklen kavirmazdim bu filimi
My dad and i watched this together often. What a great memory. ❤thank you
Beautiful memories and times when I used to watch the show in the 80's as a teenager wishing one day I would also live in the wilderness far away from this crazy world like Grizzly Adams and his bear, ben. Maybe in the next life I will be free in the wilderness.😊
This was my childhood favorite show. The first time I had ever seen a bear. Also I fell in love with them & nature. The love & nature was so awesome & amazing.
I was born in 74 but when I was a kid, i remember seeing this and wow what a flashback
22:37 Infection is sure to follow cleaning those wounds out with dirty water and unsterilized cloth.
I will never forget st ever episode
We're with the vipers 🥺
Me to I liked the show.
Dan Haggerty, professional animal trainer, actor, bodybuilder and owner of one of the coolest beards around . . . God bless you, sir! This was such an important part of my youth in the 70s. Got all of these shows on DVD, as well as the entire Wilderness Family trilogy of movies and others.
The world loves Thelma Lou! Your still a cutie.
Beautiful ❣️❣️
Though a nice story this is not the real Grizzly Admas. I am from Charlton MA. and so was Grizzly Adams. I've been to his grave site in Bay Path Cemetary. Charlton was a farming community. Remained a farming community till the early 80's. He hunted and trained bears. He died from an infected monkey bite. Died in 1860 same year he sold his trained bear show to PT Barnum.
Supposed;y she and Andy got it on behind the scenes.

Loved grizzly adams when I was growing up.
My dad hated going into a theater for a movie , but this is one of three he went to see inside.
I am 54. Fond memories watching this show 😀. I have lived with out power etc. I really isn't that hard.
This. Is one movie?I could watch over and over and over and over again and not get tired of it.Because there is always a storyline to it.
Im starting to doubt my childhood memories being as good as they really were. First i rediscover my odyssey was the worst gaming experience ever followed by Griz being a fugitive.... and un-American as well. Have to prove yourself innocent... Seems he knew the evidence would show he did it huh ? Wow, back to violence in the streets..
Andy helped me hold onto sanity.
I wish there was an unfettered recording of this song at the beginning. I heard the Thom Pace medly version from his Not In Compliance album, but I really like this version.
Wild animals can be best friends towards us better than people. I prefer animals before people.
Not sure why they didn't just use the actor's voice for the voice overs instead of the guy who did all the soup commercials. .
This country will never know true freedom like this
This is California bears grizzly state 😮😊
I dream of living in the woods 😮😊
How bout that pricks face when he saw the gyatt?
I really love this movie. Thanks
We live c Lose to ,mountain syream
This was the first movie theater my dad took me to and watched with me when i was 8. The second he went with me too and watches was when Star Wars come out. lol i know he wanted to watch too lol

true grit
sorry
alright
Thank you for posting this. It brought back so many childhood memories.
I grew up watching this and him as grizzly Adams
Dam the video quality wasn't worth watching 😕 How did we ever get by back then oh I just remembered I never watched TV I cut wood I cut grass I delivered papers I farmed
I read a lot of the comments and I can relate. I remember lying in bed with my family watching Grizzly Adams and what always impressed me was how natural it all was and looked. It was just being in nature that always made me happy and that I want to get back to. What great memories! I watched these in the late 70's and I remember seeing the Indian character and thinking, WOW, that must be my people, LOL! I am actually South Indian like Mahatma Ghandi but from Brooklyn, so, yes I did fight! LOL! But so many lessons to learn from this show! Gotta love it!
HOW CAN HE BE ALONE WITH ALL THOSE CUITHES🙃
How wonderful, this took me back to my youth, the days of innocence. When everyone just got along, our doors were unlocked and open to neighbours, everyone looked out for each other and despite being poor, most things were affordable. The 70s was the best time. I will have to try and find more of these, I remember the old man and his mule became a friend. I also now need to find The Beachcombers, The Littlest Hobo and loads more.
